U.S. Soldiers talk about the Taliban

An Army Soldier and a Marine discuss their thoughts on the Taliban in Afghanistan and fighting in the Iraq War. These are true Veteran Stories from the frontlines.

Travis Weiner (20502 Infantry, 101st Airborne Div) and Tommy Furlong (3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment) talk about their combat experiences during the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Tommy talks about what the Marine Corps is, how his deployment in Afghanistan was spent chasing ghosts, about the moment the light bulb went off for him, and about how tough it is to come home from combat. Travis talks about trying to work with the Iraqi army, an unnecessary operation that cost his buddy his legs, his experience of the impact of combat on the local Iraqis, and the day he survived a mortar attack that grievously injured several of his buddies.
