Story

Dear Folks,

I just ran across a V-mail I had written in October but it had never been mailed. I wrote and said that I received the box with the cigarette lighter. It comes in very handy as the wind won’t blow it out too easily. Another V-mail I found and I thought that was mailed was to Reba. I burned both of them up and will write this on to make up for it.

We played cards most of the day today. It seems to pass the time faster if you are doing something. I hope my airmail answered the question of Bill Scanlon. You most likely can find the solution. It was all I know and I guess anyone else knows. Write soon. I haven’t received any mail in some time.

Love George

V-mail Background:

Victory Mail also know as V-mail, was the main process used by the United States during World War II as primary and it was a secure method to correspond with soldiers stationed abroad.

Never tell people how to do things. Tell them what to do and they will surprise you with their ingenuity.

– General George Patton
