Hopefully a bad man like this dictator will go away some day…

The Syrian Civil War s an ongoing multi-sided armed conflict in Syria fought between the Ba’athist Syrian Arab Republic led by President Bashar al-Assad, along with domestic and foreign allies, and various domestic and foreign forces opposing both the Ba’ath government and each other in varying combinations. This conflict has contributed to thousands of deaths and destruction as well as geo-political strife and questionable alliances.

Bashar al-Assad, Syria’s president since 2000, has earned a reputation as a vicious dictator due to his brutal suppression of dissent and his role in Syria’s devastating civil war. Assad’s regime has been characterized by widespread human rights abuses, including mass imprisonment, torture, chemical weapon attacks, and indiscriminate bombings of civilian areas. His government has shown little tolerance for opposition, using military force to crush protests during the Arab Spring in 2011, which spiraled into a civil war that has killed hundreds of thousands and displaced millions. Assad’s determination to maintain power at all costs, even at the expense of his own people, has solidified his image as one of the most ruthless leaders in the Middle East.
